Finance Manager

Boxclever Press is a leading stationery brand with a worldwide focus. Our office is based in the beautiful Blackmore Vale close to the A303, on the borders of North Dorset and South Somerset.

With the success of our growing business we now have an opportunity for a Finance Manager to join our team. We are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA or CIMA) who will be responsible for all the finance and accounting needs of the business and offer key financial support to the company.

The types of activities you will lead on are: 

  • Ensuring financial data is kept fully up to date.

  • Manage the banking relationship including any borrowing requirements.

  • Implement and monitor internal controls.

  • Responsible for the company secretarial function ensuring the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met.

  • Development and ongoing maintenance of the cash flow monitoring system.

  • Creation and implementation of the foreign exchange strategy and maintenance of foreign currency banking.

  • Management of the systems to monitor and comply with relevant tax regulations in Europe and the USA as well as any other areas we operate in the future.

  • Preparation and submission of Company Accounts.

  • Management of any accounts personnel and ensuring all other staff are aware of their input into the accounts process.

  • Ensuring the accuracy and timely production of monthly management accounts and reporting.

  • Help identify line profitability and ensure all sales opportunities are evaluated against agreed targets.

  • Management of stock control and liaison with the Production department.

  • Agree and monitor order levels.

  • Work with suppliers to establish lines of credit to help minimise borrowing.

  • Line Management of Book-keeper.

Knowledge Areas / Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will have: 

  • 3+ years experience in an accountancy role.

  • A relevant accountancy qualification.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data to support recommendations.

  • Attention to detail ensuring finance records are full, complete and up to date.

  • Whilst experience of working with EU and USA Sales Tax systems would be preferable, it is certainly not essential as full training will be given.
